Chef-Led Culinary Education in Orange County

Kids Cooking Classes in Orange County

DC Culinary Club offers practical, hands-on culinary education led by Chef Rémy Carton for children, families, schools, homeschool communities, and youth organizations throughout South Orange County.

Real ingredients. Practical techniques. Skills that last beyond the kitchen.

A Different Kind of Cooking Class

Culinary education, not entertainment.

Many children's cooking classes are built around a demonstration and a take-home treat. DC Culinary Club is built around instruction. Sessions are structured the way a chef teaches an apprentice: fundamentals first, real ingredients, and enough repetition that the skill actually holds.

That approach works for a child learning their first knife grip, a teenager cooking dinner unassisted, a family cooking together on a weekend, or a school looking for a culinary series that develops across a term.

  • 01

    Taught by a working chef

Every program is designed and personally led by Executive Chef Rémy Carton, whose instruction comes from professional kitchens rather than a recreational class script.

  • 02

    Students do the cooking

Children handle the knife, the pan, and the seasoning. Sessions are built around guided practice and real technique instead of watching a demonstration.

  • 03

    Ingredients, nutrition, and independence

Lessons introduce how ingredients behave, how food supports everyday health and performance, and how to work safely and confidently in a kitchen.

  • 04

    Adapted to the student

Content is shaped around age, experience, interests, and the learning environment, whether that is a home kitchen, a school, or a partner kitchen.

  • 05

    Skills that get used again

The measure of a good session is not the dish. It is whether a child can repeat what they learned at home without help.

Do you work with homeschool families and groups?
Yes. Homeschool families and learning communities can arrange a session or a progressive series, scheduled around the group and held in an appropriate kitchen.

Where are the programs held?
Depending on the program, sessions take place in a family home, on a school or organization campus, or in an appropriate partner kitchen.
